The Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center supports a number of diverse fellowships: on Korean studies, on the political economy of contemporary East Asia (the Shorenstein APARC/Takahashi Fellowship), and the contemporary Asia-Pacific region (the Shorenstein Fellowships).

FSI Stanford, Shorenstein APARC Fellowship for FacultyStanford University seeks candidates for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in the social sciences, whose teaching and research are focused on contemporary Japan. Made possible through the generosity of the Northeast Asian History Foundation, the fellowship supports a scholar to conduct research and writing on a historical subject that has an impact on modern and contemporary Northeast Asia. The fellow helps deepen the center's current research on historical issues and on how historical memory has shaped current relations in Northeast Asia.
