Victoria Tomkinson joined Shorenstein APARC as publications manager in June 1999. Previously, she worked as promotions and syndication manager at the online literary magazine Salon.com in San Francisco; as an editor at Broadway Books, a division of Random House, in New York; and at Hamish Hamilton, an imprint of Penguin UK, in London.

She has a B.A. with honors in English from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in English and art history from Oxford University.
