Irene Bryant joined the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center as the program administrator for the Stanford China Program in May 2010 and is the assistant to Amb. Michael Armacost. Prior to coming to Stanford, she worked in compliance, venture capital, and as a coordinator for international relations in Sendai, Japan.

Bryant received a BA in East Asian languages and literatures from Smith College and an MA in Japanese studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She speaks Taiwanese Mandarin and Japanese.
