Research Interests
The globalization of R&D in Silicon Valley and Greater China
Ming Gu is a Ph.D. student in the department of management science and engineering (MS&E) at Stanford University. His research interests include knowledge-based regional clusters, the globalization of innovation, and corporate strategy in high-tech industries. Previously, as a research assistant at SPRIE, Ming studied the semiconductor industry in Greater China and its linkages with Silicon Valley. Ming has served as the president of the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Stanford for two years and is currently an executive director of the Stanford Asia Technology Initiative. Originally from Shanghai, Ming has a B.A. in Computer Science from Moravian College and a dual-M.S. in computer science and MS&E from Stanford.
